We are happy to announce that two Mountain Sculptors group shows coming up:
The Universe In A Cubic Foot: Small Sculptures To Delight The Senses
Mountain Sculptors is announcing an October juried exhibition in Asheville at the Updraft Gallery, 84 Walnut St., Asheville.
This is a small downtown space, therefore, we have designed a show for art work that will roughly fit in a space 12 inches high by 12 inches wide by 12 inches deep.
Another note, since the economy is still not where we artists would like to see it, consider selling your work in the lower price range, namely, below $350. (This price suggestion applies also to the Art in the Park show described below.)
The Updraft Gallery is a unique gallery that fully supports and encourages artists. We would love to see them receive sales during this show. They have lowered their commission to 60/40 for us.
Exhibition Dates: Oct. 9-Nov. 5 2013
Public Reception: Oct. 11, 2013 6-8PM
Submission Deadline for emailing photos of your work for jury will be Sunday, September 22nd, 2013.
Show entry fee is $25.00 (This includes entry in the Art in the Park show (see below).
You will be notified no later than Friday, September 27.
Work to be delivered : Oct. 7 and 8, Delivery Hours Monday the 7th 2-6 PM and Tuesday the 8th 12-4PM.

Art in the Park - October Show
Running simultaneously with the Updraft show, Mountain Sculptors will also have a booth at the Art In The Park venue at Pack Square. This is also juried. These are three consecutive Saturdays which are October 5th, 12 and the 19th. We can accept and encourage larger work for this show since we can place them around the fountain and on the steps of the square.
Work is to be delivered between 8-9 am to the Mountain Sculptors booth in the morning and picked up between 5 and 6PM that evening. This is a tight venue so I am sorry NO exceptions on pick up and drop off times or dates. You will be expected to bring your work with a pedestal. If it is a small piece, it will be in the booth. Work that is large and doesn't need to be looked after in the crowd can be placed in the areas we will have designated to us around the fountain area and the steps in Pack Square. As well we need volunteers to look after the booth on each Saturday. Volunteers needed to help set up the tent , receive and send off art work at the end of the day are requested as well.
The Steering Committee would like to remind everyone that we are volunteers ourselves and we put a great deal of energy into organizing and running these shows. In order for the show to be successful and for everyone to be able to have a venue to show and celebrate their work publicly the importance of your help cannot be stressed enough!
This show in particular needs your help because there is a great deal going on. Please strongly consider helping out with our Art In The Park booth.
As stated above a $25.00 entry fee will cover both the Updraft Gallery show and or the Art In The Park show.
